After a 2 year wait we finally managed another euro trip via Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, part of Austria and across the Stelvio pass into Italy and down to Lake Garda to Tuscany and back via Lake Como, Switzerland and France. The Z behaved perfectly for 2,500 miles averaging about 32 MPG. En route we saw part of the Mille Miglla and visited the Enzo Ferrari museum in Modena.
A few pictures from the trip.

Nice one Mike ... the San Gothard pass looks like fun.

Wow Mike what a trip that must have been it sounds fantastic, when we had a trip to Italy with Dave & Pauline Potter it was undoubtedly
the best road trip we had taken loved Italy and Lake Garda very expensive thou.

Thanks for sharing Mike, great pictures and more memories for your collection. Bet you enjoyed that a lot.

Tony.

Brilliant pictures Mike! Looks like you and Claire had a blast.

Yep, great trip, great memories.

Fantastic. I'm hoping to go to the Mille Miglia one day, looks awesome!

Looks like a fantastic trip Mike :cool:

Some great roads amongst beautiful scenary.

2500rpm at 80mph...I can only dream of that in my manual. 😂

I sit at 3500 revs for 80mph in 5th for the manual.

125mph with 4000 is far more economical

I have a similar photo Mike, lots more revs than you though as mines a manual...

Is there really such a big difference in top gear ratios between manual and auto?

I don't fully understand the workings of the auto box but in normal auto mode the revs are always low in cruising mode. If you use sport or manual mode they go up a lot, I have often seen it nudging the red line.
