I am still awaiting confirmation from the wife if she can get the days off. May even be making a week of it if she can get the full week off.

@pgunter well i've read the first post and appreciate all your efforts so i am really sorry to be a pain but the tunnel times for returning either mean we have an early start from Ypres to arrive at the tunnel for 9.50 as you have to be there at least 30mins before departure (it'll be a rushed breakfast and a thrash to the tunnel) and the later time is too late for us as we have to be back home in Staffordshire for 5pm.
Bearing this in mind I have looked at Eurotunnel for a better time for Tues 28th and can get a fare price of £111 for a crossing returning at 11.50 which is only £6 more than eurotunnels quote but actually less if we go with the idea of paying an extra £8.

Also looking at what billz has just posted if he decides to stay longer he will not be able to be part of a block booking as a group so we will be at least 3 short possibly 4. Based on all of this I actually vote to forget about a group booking and for us to just book our own crossings.

Sorreeeeee Paul

@Mrs Mint That was the whole idea of opening it up for discussion. If people wish to do that they we will all have to book and ope we can get on the same trains.. If we do not then we will have to regroup on the other side or make our way in smaller convoys to the Netherlands for the Sunday.

Once a few more have commented I think we will have an idea. It was worth trying.

I'm easy, but I will say @pgunter you have done well to get us this far.this tunnel may be one step to far.i have a bugger of a time trying to arrange a biking trip, and that's with very good friends that I've known for years and there's only half a dozen of us.i maybe time to let us take a little of the pressure off your shoulders and make us book our own tunnel.get a meet point in France or the UK and time , a phone No .its then up to us .your very brave to think of organising such a random bunch of idiots.were happy to go with the flow ,the only trouble your going to have with me is at the bar...and maybe Jill ,Mrs @Jack Ratt

@miller1098 I am beginning to think that as you say.. we might be better booking our own crossings. As a few obviously have there own ideas on times and such.

As for a meeting point. There is a very good Auchan Hypermarket just off the main route in Calais or alternatively we could meet up at a services along the motorway. Heading along the main route into Belgium and down to our first hotels is a toll free road by the way. Just need to make sure everybody has a full tank of fuel. I have found a Shell petrol Station not far from our Dutch location where I will top up on the Saturday and then the Sunday after the run so I have enough fuel for getting back to the UK. I normally get 230 to 240 out of a tank.

So people.. have your say .. and I am thinking of the 10.36 going over to calais.. what do we all think !!! Would save a lot of hassle too. I did try.. but fell at the last hurdle.. lol.

Just looked.. 25th June 10.36 out. Return 28th June 14.20 so we can have some time in the Hypermarket if people wish. Just thoughts..

I think it's the way forward, the only disappointment is the work you've put into euro tunnel.cast us adrift and take a little pressure of especially over Christmas.we will still probably meet up at the tunnel cafe anyway.

OK seems that we will all be booking the tunnel ourselves, no problem. I have just reserved our place now and paid
the £111 to leave Folkstone on the 25th at 10:36 and returning on the 28th at 11:20. That's us sorted.
