Just connected up a new scanner and got the following error codes:

1) F5 CAN bus ASC 1message not sent ( i did have an issue with another Connector - replacement works)

2) Voltage supply Terminal R faulty. The carly scanner says there is too much voltage coming out of the postive terminal.

Can you please explain what these codes mean please in simple english

Thanks

PS I have also the dreaded air bag code (70) but apparently quite common. So ordered a emulator.

Terminal R faulty could be a seat occupancy sensor. Had a long time ago on an E46. a tech discovered it and solved it.
other than this the terminal R is the Run position of the key (second click before start) and the ecu checks static data in order to switch off the warning lights on the dash.
if a warning light stays on, or there is an actual fault in the terminal this error appears.

check your battery, erase codes and try again.

Thanks for information. I will give that a try. The onloy thing i dont understand is why the carly app says there is more coming out of the positive terminal than going in. I have checked the voltage across the terminals with a voltmeter and its within the permitted readings.

sorry no idea about this. How did you connect the carly? Where is the adapter plugged to? Engine obd or cabin?

Cabin - the connector to Engine was non functional. I will try again tomorrow and see what I get.

Thank you for your input.

do this little hack to the engine obd. Connect with a wire these two guys and plug it back in. Then read again from the cabin. you will be very happy looking at all available codes from inside the cabin.

Thats a great hack. Does the pin part of it just pop up ? (lever it up?)

the pins are protruding and are solid. If I understand correctly what you are asking, just put the wire there and plug it back. once you open it it will be obvious. Easy.
