Did you get the wiring diagrams? This is where you needed them to see what fuses power the EGS.
yes I got the diagrams, are these the right ones ? It says fuse 26 is the egs and it’s supposed to be a 10a, i double checked the fuse even replaced it with a brand new fuse. Still no change. What’s next?

IME if it starts then dies my money is on the MAF sensor. Disconnect it and try again. Has happened to me a few times.
The MAF is on the air hose between the air filter and the throttle body. (Sorry if you knew that.)
Others may blame the crank or cam position sensors- mine were OK.
When I unplug the MAF sensor and it seems to run fine except my tac doesn’t work

Your Rev counter is driven off the Crank shaft sensor. If the Rev counter is not working and all fuses are good for the instrument cluster, then a new sensor is needed.

Two pre-cautions
  1. Only use BMW (OE) sensors. Or you'll be doing the job twice and the crank sensor is hard to get to.
  2. Make sure that the old O Ring seal comes out with the old sensor. Check that there are no "Extra" O rings in there already. Fit the new sensor and O Ring. Some People have ended up with 2 O Rings in the hole resulting in a whole lot of intermittent start problems.

Unplugging the MAF causes the engine to run around -3% rich. This can mask lean conditions and the car runs better. What are your 4 fuel trims at hot idle with the MAF plugged in?

With the MAF plugged in, do you have the "Cog of Death" warning light up?

On my 2000 Z3 the crank sensor was mounted above the starter motor, on earlier car it can be at the front of the engine.

if you're not in the US I would blank the pump off and throw it away. @t-tony had blanking plates at one point.
I’ve checked with my state laws and I’m good to just block it off where do I get a blocking plate from? I was going to fix it but broke it broke another old hose so I’m taking it out.
