engine swap

Hi, I think i've found a replacement engine for my 1997 2.8 Z3. However its in a 1998 5 series, are there any issues swapping or are they the same engine ie m52b28? or is there a way I can compare?

Same engine but you will need to fit the Z3 sump, oil pick up and engine wiring loom.

But you already have the wire loom.
Its a matter of connecting the dots to complete the picture.
worst case the idle valve and temp sensor have different inlet plugs and you just have to cut and solder the wires.

It's 2 or 3 hours max to swap everything over.
