Before I started I cleaned the whole engine bay with a hose pipe and a bottle of mixed water washing up powder (Ariel) gets rid of all the grease including bonnet, the rubber I didn't use anything just cleaned it, all the plastics I cleaned and premiered up and used a gloss spray on top, it really comes up and looks nice :)

A very cheap and easy job with great results with the primer and paint and wire wheel cost me 15 pound and your own Labour which for me is love, it makes the job so much more satisfying :)

Thanks all working on cars is my life and especially now I have a love affair for the z3 especially my 2.8 every morning I drive to work in it I feel special and it feels even better knowing I have done all the work on it :) the only trouble is I'm running out of things to do on it, if I had the space I would invest in more z3s so I could fix them up to a high standard.

really good job you done there... the washer bottle clean and brake master cylinder clean makes a difference and looks loads better... only additional things i have done is the nuts holding on the coil pack i have changed for stainless steel dome nuts, i also have polished the trim at the front of the bonnet in front of the radiator, those air box clips need changing on mine as they are very rusty...i have also painted the shock absorber nuts, and there is a rust hole that shows up on the top shock mount i got some colour matched paint and dabbed with a cotton bud in any areas that show wear and rust...

heres mine so far.

Every thing you have all said I have done, the only thing I haven't but is in the pipeline is the prop and change the centre carrier and quibo but there is no rush for that job

Only kidding :) That looks an awesome finish.
By the way, I’ve booked the holiday inn for 4 weeks, and have a blank cheque ........=))

My work place is only about 300 yards away from the Holiday inn in Grimsby, shame I can't fit you in as I am busy on a 2.8 =))

You have missed the opportunity to work on one of BMW’s finest ever .......at least that’s what the salesman said to me when I bought it. :bashhead:

That just means I will have to do it myself........so definitely a job for next winter
(If I can get it anywhere near the finish you have then I will be well happy.)
