I will check it in the morning, I've just ordered one of the probes.. I'll let you know how it goes.. Thanks for your help, its really appreciated.
When you get your probe have a play with it to see how it works. Connect the leads to a battery and use the probe and the earth fly lead to power up a bulb or an old 12v horn etc. Good luck finding your fault. I bought one of these type of probe from Snap-On tools about 20 years ago, they were about £60 then. Great bit of kit.

Tony.

A bit more digging shows all the instrument lights are connected together somewhere in the region of the rear of the stereo! Good Luck.

I've never noticed that splice diagram in a circuit diagram guide before. That could be useful!

Its OK, points you in the right direction but you still have to hunt sometimes.

Hi....I get this Z3 2001 Roadster back today, commute home and park it in the carport when I notice that I can't bolt or open the vehicle with the distant and when I attempt the horns makes 3 trills like something is astray. The installer of the headlamps (HIDs) put the old headlamps in the storage compartment alongside all the containers and such from the other vehicle's sound update. Is this trunk issue probably the casue of this new furnishing/incapacitating issue?
