They can't seem to make their minds up... +80 horse power clearly displayed on this page...

But when you read the small print, it states 4-6% increase. Which even with my bad maths, does not equate to +80hp on any Z3...

In short, NO.

Stay away from them...

EDIT: Sorry I didn't see @GazHyde had already posted the same video I was thinking of...I guess I am not the only MCM fan in here :D

Hmmmmm. That's not good then. Pants in fact  I suppose if it sounds to be good to be true then it normally is. Just been on a few forums after my post, most posts pan the system. Oh well.

They can not create enough forced induction and i think they possibly decrease power.
I watched the videos along while back if you could get that kind of power from it everyone would have one fitted already.
Save up and buy a real one Andy

Cheers mate. Circa £5k purchase and fitting, that's some serious saving mate :arghh:

Yeah not cheap at all ESS supercharger comes in @4k inc vat a big chunk of change
:meh:

Electric superchargers can work, but you need a very strong electric motor, more powerful than the 12v system can deliver probably; you'd definately need an extra generator/alternator..
And its pretty much impossible to make such a system cheaper than a conventional supercharger, as the extra generator/alternator and electric motor will be added to the supercharger you already need.
Also a supercharger is a bit more than that pressed steel propellor you see in that plastic housing :D

If there was a cheap alternative, companies like ESS, Gpower, VF etc would have found it as they are specialists on making supercharging kits ;)

I can even imagine that in a high perfomance engine an ebay kit like that can even lower the HP when it restricts the airflow going into the engine (when it cant keep up with the flow).
And it probably gets fitted in front of the MAF. The MAF needs to see a laminar flow and this is more like something that makes the flow turbulent, which can make the MAF malfunction. And that could in theory ruin your cat. converter, lambda probes and even exhaust valves.

Good info. Wide berth is officially the order of the day.
