None with the robot if the egg sorters do their job right.sometimes a hen will lay a soft shelled egg and you have to learn to spot them on the belt before they get into the system as it makes a mess and can spoil others that it comes in contact with. The egg sorters have a very important job finding any unusual eggs as our buyer wants uniform eggs .none go to waste as we seek at the farm gate so every whole egg gets used.and some of the less cracked ones.but now our hens are mature we have a very small amount of waste. less than a 10th of 1 percent. The way our shed works is on a cumulative amount of fine margins,we try to monitor every aspect of our hens wellbeing, you may laugh but the happier the chickens are the better they lay, food and water is a given but there are so many little thing that make it work to it’s best simple things like toys and hanging bales of grass ,dust baths, different roosting heights and mood lighting it’s quite a science.lolThe Age of the Robot!
