I have a feeling that the rears haven't been off for a long time! Luckily the brakes and back-plates look OK.

Van looks good Steve, but I hope you haven't neglected the Zed!
I usually smear a bit of copper grease on the drum where it contacts the wheel Bryan, seems to help.
Not neglected Bob,the van was the trial process......Bob's next ;).
Used Autoglym machine cleaner,it's good stuff.

 Quite right Steve, always use it on my wheels and any bolts (apart from where nyloc nuts are used).
Picked up some products today for the wheels. Halfords currently have a 3 for 2 offer on cleaning gear if you need to top up before you do Bob!

I do need to top up my supplies, they never have these offers on when I buy anything from there ....so I'll have to pay a visit there soon .
I tried Autoglym wheel sealer, not keen on it .......it's a spray on and took hours to dry so I'll be using something different next time.
No gripes with any other of their products though :).
So what's your next job on Eddie then Bryan?

A good check around the back end, bushes etc., clean and underseal, rear discs off to check the handbrake shoes.

I am a bit concerned about them as with the handbrake on there is a bit of movement in the wheels before they lock up, not sure if this is normal or not.

Once the wheels are cleaned up I am just going to give them a coat of carnuba wax, never really bothered with wheel detailing before so it will be a learning process to see what works best!

Now there's a thought ;)
A rear spoiler would suit Eddie

Steve
Not sure Steve, maybe a bit too boy racerish. I think I would have to see one in situ first.

If the parking brake shoes aren't adjusted well up to the drum they will allow the wheel to rotate a little before locking. To be honest it's not much but the outside diameter of the tyre exaggerates it. A clean out and adjust is never a bad thing Bryan, they do tend to get neglected mate.

Tony.

 Thanks Tony, expert advice as always. Hopefully I will find time this week for a good look and clean, need to get sorted for 1st April and then MOT soon after.

A couple of long afternoons working on Eddie over the Easter break. First job was to remove the rear discs to check the handbrake shoes, which turned out to be in good condition. A good clean up of the hubs, discs and backplates was required. Stripped down the calipers for a clean and a dollop of copper grease where required. Once reassembled, handbrake adjusted as per the Bentley Bible.

Attention then turned to checking the bushes for signs of ageing/weakness/excessive play, but all OK for now! Then onto completing the underside clean up and undersealing, followed by a check on the diff oil level.
Then onto the most time consuming job.

That's two wheels down, two to go.

Rear wheels back on, space saver inflated and back in place and then down off the axle stands. Just enough time to adjust the drivers side rear light cluster as the gap wasn't quite right between it and the bumper.

Next job, front wheels off again for caliper/ disc and wheel clean up, ready for April 1st.

Thanks for your comments @t-tony, @Bozzy, @madleemark and @DavidM. I am sure the effort will be worth it in the end, but my achy bones are not so sure! :inpain:
