Thought I would start a progress thread mainly so I can remind myself what I have done ( I am over 50 you know!)

Purchased Eddie in June 2015. He is a 1999 Topaz Blue Z3 2.0L. This is a short recap of the first six months.

First job was to sort out the tracking so it was down to Tanvic Tyres to get the alignment checked. Unfortunately the track rod ends wouldn't budge, so then it was off to see my mechanic to have two new ends fitted for £100.

Next up was the inlet cam sensor, another £100.

Repaired aerial base and new grommit and antennae £30

New rear window £65

Fixed loose bits of trim.

Fixed front drivers side speakers.

Fitted temporary air Scoop.

Fitted factory roll hoops £250

Water pump and belt fitted. Coolant renewal £55

Wind deflector, tonneau, stone guards, strut brace, clear side indicators and Zroadster. org sticker purchased

you've been a busy boy. It's surprising how many small things we do on our zeds and don't keep track of it. I like how you even listed the stickers.
Top job keep it up :)

You've shamed me into it Bryan, I'm going to start a progress thread for my Z4, never did for the three, so when I get caught up to date I'll post it up all at once.

Tony.

Will do Steve, I can always find those little jobs to do, just hope I don't find any big ones! It is an easy car to work on though.

Saw these on eBay Bryan, I'm going to get some for my car when I get a strut brace. Would look nice, if you used the original nuts on yours (like I did).

That's a coincidence Tony, when I was fitting the brace I was thinking that some SS nuts would look better. Then I started looking at the all the other rusty fastenings and the first thought to run through my head was that I need to raid the parts bins when I get back to work! Plenty of SS nuts and bolts there! =))

Another afternoon in the garage today, refitted the air pump and swapped out the lollipop bushes. Drivers side came away from the control arm a little too easily, closer inspection revealed cracks in bore of the rubber. Passenger side took a bit more persuading as the control arm had been replaced early last year.

All other joints and anti roll bar bushes look ok and had no play in them. Drop links look a bit rough so they will go on the shopping list. Strut bump stops were a little perished also.

The underbelly, front arches and sill ends look very good with few signs of corrosion, a coat of underseal is on the to do list as is the power steering cooler pipework, which, as you can see is beyond salvaging.
