i was given an early birthday present yesterday, I've wanted to go up in the tethered balloon at Disney Springs but Shirl didn't want to as she's scared of heights and I didn't want to go on my own. Anyway, bless her, she took a deep breath and said she would, so money changed hands, wavers were signed !!!! and off we went.

Once we were up to the highest point we were allowed to walk around the platform and take pictures. Shirl managed a smile while holding on with only one hand.

Tony.

Good on ya Shirl. I'm not a fan of heights my self so can appreciate your concerns

Wow that's awesome man as they say over there what a great birthday pressie .
Fantastic views from way up there, lovely pics as well mate.
Well done Shirl you're braver than me ;).

Steve

Not one for heights either so far play to Shirl and what an experience ....brilliant:thumbsup:

Welll done Shirl, now make him pay.=))

Roy.

I wouldn't even get up a ladder, not even for my wife, that's why I was born short any higher and I would have to sit down, thank goodness I was behind Bozzy in the height queue.

Wow, braver folks than I! Heights wise wouldn't be an issue but I'm claustrophobic so things like that are out for me. Well done to Shirl for going for it.

Some great views from up there mate, well worth the effort.

Great photos @t-tony :p
Your much braver than me Shirl , I don't like heights and I couldn't do it ;)
Lovely birthday present ;)

looks well worth the flight, stunning view, when did the Mrs breath out!

Got to take my hat off to you Shirl, braver than me. I get dizzy on a thick carpet. I hate high buildings and heights in general, but strangely I don't mind flying at all.

Brilliant birthday pressie Tony and respect to Shirl for taking the flight with you. Hope she enjoyed it as much as you:thumbsup:

When we got off I said to her, there that wasn't too bad was it? She agreed up until the point where I said will you go on it again? " I never said that" she replied.=))

Tony.

Well done Shirl for overcoming one of your fears. I don't like confined spaces and would probably have a panic attack if I had to go under the sea in a submarine. I think I could just about cope if the sub was in dock, but once the hatches were locked down I'd be a mad man

Well done to Shirl and Happy Birthday Tony.

Have those lot behind her escaped from the local Penitentiary =)).

No mate they were Brazilians, they tend to wear all the same tops.

Tony.
I'm with you all the way Shirl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know the feeling that you have here:

To the casual observer, Shirl just has her hand on the rail. But she knows, and I KNOW, that this is tantamount to having a death grip on the metal rail. I'll show you another example of such a grip. Please notice in the following picture that @miller1098 is casually and lightly resting his hand on the safety rail. You will also notice that my grip is in no way similar. I KNOW that there is a several thousand foot drop directly behind me and there is no way I'll get near that as long as I'm holding on with everything I've got...............................Frankie

Exactly the same as me Garry. It's awful to live with. I used to drive a shovel and one of the workers thought it funny to lock me in it and go for his break. When he came back he saw the state I was in. I've suffered from claustrophobia ever since, even had hypnotherapy to try and ease it some years back. I love travelling and even have to really concentrate on planes etc. Can really ruin your life in some cases. All because someone pulled a prank on me :(. Sorry gone :offtopic:

Not OT Dave, first post says Shirl had to conquer her fear to go on it mate.:)

Tony.

Oh wow, well done, Shirl. There is no way on earth that I would have done that. I don't do heights, as my dad found out when I worked for him plum picking one summer. I got to the top of the ladder and then couldn't let go of it to pick the plums.
Have a great birthday, Tony.
