Seen them in the Z3 'Complete Story' books but never seen 1 in real life.
Some look different though as 1 has a single hump behind just the driver, others more concaved and smoother lines as a double. Few pictures on tinterweb.

I think factory ones came in two pieces so they could fold and be carrried in the boot.
Probably more of a California thing where the roof is very unlikely to be raised, unlike the uk where we have to deal with rain
