I don't think that this is a DIY job but I would be more than happy to be proven wrong.

Like I said its needs to be looked in to and in detail before a decision is to be made :thumbsup:

OK I know I have one and I keep reading about them.........but what the bloody hell is a vanos??? o_O

Morning @Grumpy, a mate of mine bought a second hand engine for less than the 800 odd quid that it would have cost him to get the Vanos repaired.

Morning H/T. I got a little worried yesterday when I started the car to go to Tonys and there was a ticking coming from the front end of the engine bay. Like already stated I didn't know what the vanos was although I've read plenty about them getting noisy. Thankfully it turned out to be the broken fan blade ticking.
