Dsc light blinks and brakes lock up

What’s up everyone I’m Lucas, I’m kind of new to z3’s I got my black manual m54b25 01 z3 in November and have been daily-ing/restoring it since.

Within the last few weeks though I’ve been having abs issues. The light has been on since I bought the car but recently very randomly and after startup the light will start to blink and the front brakes lock up and my brake pedal becomes very hard and is very uncomfortable to press and it happens for like 10 seconds or sometimes less.
I did have a power steering leak on my steering pump to rack hose that when at full lock would spew atf upwards but I fixed that today.
I replaced my calipers, rotors, bled the brakes, pads, sensors, and abs sensors also today but I’m still having the same issue. Do you think I should be looking at my control module or pump or something in that area.

I would be checking the "reluctor" rings on all of the brakes. Looking for any cracks or breaks where the ABS sensor detect the rotation. Do you have any type of Code Reader to check for fault codes stored?

None of the code readers I have can connect to my vin for abs codes but I’ll check the rings tomorrow. Thank you

I assume you have been connecting to the round connector in the engine bay? I have found several times that I have had to use some electrical contact cleaner spray before a code reader would get a good enough connection to actually work.

Welcome to the forum from New Zealand.

You are going to need a scanner with BMW software to read the ABS trouble codes. Without the trouble codes we are all just guessing and you're the one doing all the unnecessary work and buying unnecessary parts.

There are a range of scanners with BMW software:

• INPA on a windows computer: https://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/...tions-Experiences-Discussions-Experimentation
• Foxwell NT530 with BMW software
• Creator C110
• Creator C310+

You need to connect to the 20 pin port under the bonnet/hood. All modules can be read from here. An adapter cable is needed.

The OBD2 port by the steering wheel only talks to the DME and EGS.
