If you do this again I suggest travelling on a sunday, lorry's are banned from movements and the French generally stay home. We always travel through France on Sundays it's fantastic! Pleased you've enjoyed your visit.

Thanks again for all the tips/advice.

Just got back home.

I did have to get out three times for the tolls, no bother though, the French drivers just laugh at you.

What I did learn though is the hotel, and B&B I stayed in don't change the sheets. It's a habit of mine that I always pull back the sheets to check, found hairs in the bed on both occasions.

Other than that I found it pleasant driving in France, the roads are quieter than I expected.
Errrrrr that's disgusting, glad I stay with friends  Roads are great arn't they, no heavies on a Sunday only essentials, drove from St Malo to Calais last year on a Sunday and hardly saw any cars

They are over here to, they changed from red to make them look 'less junk foodish'..
Are they still red in the UK?

Ah, the Mc Cafe and the Mc Bistro.... It's amazing how well the PR guys can repackage the same old stuff, change the poster, add in a bit of green, rebrand the interiors with more wood than plastic and state, we are going green and more environmentally friendly. Problem is... People fall for it.

The Italian ones in Milan are stand alone cafes. Totally separate from the main burgers and mc ...

Nice coffee in glasses and China too.

Same in Germany, at least the ones I have been to, nice area to sit as well.
As you said, PR is correct, as you will go and order another one.
