Hmmm, maybe.

Tony.

As the old Chinese proverb states ......."F*** 'EM"

Time for us to grow a pair and do unto others what they do unto us.

First thing I'd do is to build a big fuel station and a fuel dump at each of our ports and pass a law that says every foreign registered vehicle has to dump it's fuel and refill here to put some cash into our coffers.

They would also have to buy an entry/visitor/worker visa.

And then they do it to us.
There's me, planning a trip to a few places I've been before, this ain't going to help at all. No plans to go to Liechtenstein, luckily.

When I insured my cars over here in The Netherlands I always told them that I would be driving in the UK and received a "Green Card" at no extra cost.

Green Insurance Card NL
  • Not compulsory but strongly recommended, as it provides all the information you’ll need in case of an accident abroad. Your car insurer will give this to you.

Lots of 'coulds' and 'shoulds' in that report. When it all irons out in the coming year I'll only concern myself with 'shall' and 'will'. UK insurers will soon fall into line, one will offer free services, or a nominal fee and the rest will fall into line to save risking lots of business.

Usual Daily Mail anti anything 'foreign' so called news. There is nothing particularly new in this at all.Much of what is listed there has been at least a recommendation before . There have also been been other things necessary when driving in other European countries. It's no big deal. A lot of fuss about nothing.

It will be like it was before, when we had to have correct insurance and Green Cards to drive abroad, so no surprises really. Can not expect to come out of Europe and still be able to travel freely. Brits will be stopped more often and also Duty Free will be back to how it was. Smokers will only be able to bring back 200 per person not the 3200 and so on. It may even prove some Bank Cards dont work either

Nothing new here. It’s what was voted for. Don’t expect to keep the status quo when it’s rejected by the majority. Back to the old processes. Suck it up.
Will be the same at passport control. You’ll be going through the non-European channel and the checks will be more extensive and take much longer.

Not sure anybody was expecting to keep the Status Quo buddy. Some we'll win and some we'll lose. The majority of peeps go abroad on holiday once a year, at best, so not even on the radar. The next 11 months will be like the previous 3.5 years, trying to put the frighteners on 25 of the remaining EU members, the minnows.

Read an interesting paper written by USA academics 18 or so months ago.

1. USA - the only Super Power
2. UK - the only World Power (based on economy, military clout and World influence.
3. The other 'big hitters' fall into the 'Regional Power' bracket. Thus the UK is a massive loss to the EU
