Ouch ! Poor chap. Hope he's okay . . .

I've still got a steel pin in my right leg from a similar scenario - mine was a Suzuki GSX1100 in those days. That was written off too. I still have a piece of my front wheel in my bedside drawer. I take the view if a Toyota Corolla cant kill me, nothing can . . .

He's going to take time to mend, and it wasnt his fault . . .

I do know that road, its the Strines (Mortimer) Road from the gps, just as you are coming down to the A57. That bend is deceptive at the end of a lengthy straight section, but it is a 60mph road. He seems to loose it more than I think he maybe should, scoobys shouldnt have that much understeer should they ?

I suppose that means that road section has come to the attention of the local constabulary. Keep an extra weather eye for long lensed vans on future trips then . . .

But I do hope the poor chap is okay . . .

I've said for years that when out on my racing bike (now motorbike) that I'm sufficiently Hi-Viz that if somebody hit me in their car and I could get up (sadly not the case here) that the recalibration would be swift and severe. Had a couple of close calls on my racing bike over the years, caught the moron up at the lights, opened their car door and had a 'chat'.

The car driver should should get a ban on his license ......
My heart goes out to the motorcycle rider , hope he make a full recovery ;)

Damn. Any word on the riders? They looked properly geared up but that only works so well...

 wow, not that I've ever had a motorbike but that would certainly put me off. He was doing nothing wrong. Hope he makes a full recovery

The unnamed rider suffered a broken back, sternum and wrist in the devastating smash.

The 35-year-old floor fitter from Barnsley is said to have only survived because he was wearing so much protective gear. His Suzuki K7 bike was completely destroyed.

Tony.
