Dont Ever Buy A Boat

Mate of mine had something like this, twin inboard V8's.
Very nice to look at but after half hour at full throttle, I had had enough.

Had some fantastic times in the boat, brilliant days out, steamed across to Barmouth, and then went for a few beers and food,
Over to Shell Island for lunch and some libations.

Went up to Abersoch and into Hells mouth about 40 boats anchored up all having BBQ's and beer, so joined up and had a cracking time fishing chatting and just watching the antics going on, Dive comps seeing who could dive down and retrieve bottles of champagne, diving comps what a cracking day and no drink driving laws so to speak, although it is against the law to be in charge of a boat when drunk, not a problem with a few beers though and no chance of getting caught any way unless you have an accident. The worst part was keeping the water born hells angels away on the jet skis.

See, it was good value if you think of it overall as buying entertainment!

Just worked out that the Zed cost just over £1 per mile to drive last year in insurance, tax, mot and fuel. If I'd actually serviced it and had to pay for a lock-up garage it would have been double that. I didn't use it enough, only 500 miles, bad value, but still worth it.

The aeroplane in my avatar, well, if you had to justify the cost you just wouldn't do it! All still cheaper than a cocaine or gambling habit, so I'm told, not sure if it's less addictive though!

But, if you don't enjoy it while you can, all that'll happen will you'll get buried in a nicer box!
