Picked the little'un up from College yesterday afternoon. Dad, can we zoooooom down the dual carriageway? Not a lot about so "pressed on" off the roundabout to get up to 70mph on the dual carriageway. The i3 didn't get away but couldn't close the gap up to 70mph, traumatised :arghh: Can't get it's roof down though. Less range too

A sign of things to come mate. :(

To make it all work we need to rip up every street and put in some blooming thick cables if everyone wants to charge their cars at once. If anyone has any spare copper pipe , I'd hang onto it , could be worth more than gold in about 20 years

True how quick they are, but wonder how long it'll be before everyone is happy enough with their mileage and charging points. Think maybe they've jumped the gun going all electric so quick when they never really led us slowly into it. I believe the hybrid was thrown to the wolves far too soon. We could of had a lot more charging points available before going all electric. They've been pushed by the eco revolution in my book. Not really interested in the whole electric thing personally cos , you can take a horse to water but you can't make it drink. Roll on when every street lamp and most car parks and bays have charging points then maybe if the mileage is right and the batts last the life of the vehicle I'll be interested enough to try it. Won't be in my lifetime though, unless they get their fingers out.

I was in my 335d today and was well beaten by a Model 3. It’s not even worth trying they are rapid. I’m considering all electric for my next car. Maybe Volvo Xc40 electric. Less than 5 secs to 60 and £10 to fill it up. What’s not to like?

Time per charge? Travel distance? Purchase price? Only asking out of curiosity.

I still beleve the electric revolution is a long way off we simply dont have the capacity to supply the electricity in this country we may have the generation capacity as that is the easy bit but the distribution network simply doesnt have it, a lot of it dates back to the 1950s

Like I said this is running headlong into the unknown distribution area that's not even been thought through. I'll stick with petrol for the time being and maybe go hybrid first when they're cheap enough. Batts been around long enough to have made them everlasting by now so maybe someone has shelved the best thing since the computer, like the everlasting lightbulb back and in the fifties,I rest my case. :highfive:

milk floats used to go for miles and miles on batteries,
not quite as fast though,
though there was that one that Ernie drove.....

"an' he drove the fastest milk cart in the West. However here in the East, we had Ford Transit, (hmmm) Bedford CF (Crap), Talbot Express (more crap) VW LT ( nearly crap). This was just my elder brother trying to earn a living. His wife's name is Sue, they live at Trent Port Lane (but not at 22).=))=))

Most embarrassing moment was getting well done by a Tesla3 on a slip road when I was in the M4 convertible. I didn't see it coming to be honest, but even if I had been ready with all the sport modes and everything, it would probably still have done me.

i think when the time comes when electric is the only way... there will be an abundance of electric conversion kits for cars. i know they exist at the moment but are not the norm... and if my zed it still kicking come that day then i will convert it. the z3 shell has so much more character about it than any electric looking car on the road and there is plenty of space in that long bonnet for the motors

Few years back witnessed a i3 out accelerate a McLaren at Santa Pod. needless to say over the 1/4 mile the McLaren breezed by

Same thing all over those leccy cars are nippy I have a Leaf through work that is a pocket rocket but boring as hell to drive
I had my first experience of trying to chuck it down some country roads the other day and I had to back off I thought it was gona end up in a field or roll over.
Great off the line though, possibly faster than the z3

My dad was a milkman for 20 odd years he got a brand new hawker sydely electric milk float in 1976 it took 15 hours to charge and would do 25 miles at a max speed of 18 mph , i learnt to drive in it at 13 years old
