Have you tried some wd40 or cleaning fluid on the Stryker plate button on either door to make sure they are not stuck? Other wise I think the likely culprit would be a faulty button on the striker plate. Maybe one of the resident breaker might have in stock to sell
I tried holding down the striker plate buttons on both doors as a test but the light still doesn't go out.

I think if the light switch is in the 'off' position the light should be off no matter what any of the door contacts are doing.

So, in my mind, if the light is on even with the switch in the off position then I would be looking at the switch. I'd be taking out the light and checking the switch to make sure it works.

That's not the problem if you read the original post. The switch is in the middle position where it's supposed to go off when the door is closed but doesn't. It stays on. I've tried pressing both the driver and passenger side buttons in the door jam and it still refuses to go off.

So when you turn it off it stays off, when you turn it on to position three it stay on, the only error is the middle position where the door switches dont seem to work, yes, understood.. the dome light as you know is a three position switch, open/open/closed. position 1 is open light off no matter what, position 3 is closed, light on, no matter what.. center position is dependent on your door switches. Drivers side door switch is my bet... That being said, the dome light is earth switched, so if you have a short to earth anywhere in either door, the light will stay on... I you are savvy with a multi-meter, it should be easy to find.. ;)

May not be totally relevant, but my switch would not turn on the interior light last winter, albeit other functions were as designed. Moving the switch between different positions a dozen or so times restored normal function. Very rarely use switch so guess contacts were dirty. Now work switch once a week or so so all remains is well. :)
