Our car was covered in them when we collected it on Wednesday. After a wash the paintwork is badly marked and is going to need machine polishing.

They look like willow flowers to me, I have a Goat Willow in my garden which drops masses of them this time of the year.

I'm always reluctant to park under trees, so many have stuff falling off, not to mention the bird droppings which can be horrendous when they've been eating berries.

Me too, but you have little choice where Airport Hotels put your car. That's why we leave the dashcam in and running.

We get the most horrific droppings imaginable from the local vultures, (seagulls) when they have been eating cuttlefish, it looks like blue fried eggs, the ink stains everything, bless their little cotton socks.

I remember about 4 years ago at Newby Hall a gull picked on my car out to drop a load on the bonnet. Luckily someone on the BMWNECC stand lent me a garden spray filled with water to get the worst of it off. Took me a while to get it sorted when I got home. Don’t know what it had been eating but the grit in its droppings was unbelievable. I found wet kitchen roll left for a while on the dropping remains soften everything up so it was easy to wash off without leaving much of a mark.
