Don’t know if this helps, but I’ve got the July 2000 Price List & Specification. It seems only the 3.0 litre model comes with LSD.

This is even more confusing, as mine does have one and its just a 1.9
my vin is verifies it…. From what I see in this catalogue it is not even an option… maybe it is a UK “thing”? Mine is German spec btw.
my vin is WBACM11090LF19603, can be checked for specs in the link above….

In any case, I like the idea of fitting one! Anyone know where I’d get either? In good condition or reconditioned? I assume you can’t get them new any more unless they’re used on something else?

Lots and lots of ££££ !

I sold a Torsen from a 1997 1.9 for £650 and it was a a small case (168) as fitted to the 1.8, 1.9, 2.0 and 2.2. It went into an E30 318is. Small case LSD's are rare and I've only ever seen two.

Medium case (188) ones are a lot more. They are sought after by E30 owners - a grand is about right, maybe even more now. Some mega early 2.8's had the old clutch plate type LSD and they are a fortune if you can find one.

Large case diffs (210) were not used in the Z3.
