Do you have any of these type of bulbs in your kitchen or bathroom?

I've never had a problem getting the old dead bulbs out of the holder, but sometimes the new one just doesn't want to go in. Today was one of those days and frustration was creeping up!
Then I had a brainwave. Anyone on here who owns or has owned an old British sports car will have a valve sucker/grinding peg (call it what you will) and this is the answer to the problem.

Removal is always easy, just make sure the new ones have a smooth surface, like this.

or the sucker can't create a vacuum to make it stick.
It makes it so much easier to locate the lugs into the bayonet fixing.

Being a short arse isn't the problem (I have some steps) it's just sometimes they won't go into the holder. Putting a handle on the bulb makes it easier.

That’s a great idea 👍

You usually get a suction cup with the original fitting - if you can still find it!
I can because mine's in the Zed tool kit for removing instrument cluster.

Original fitter probably binned it Colin, 39 years ago when they put in. ;)

Have used one of those plastic hooks with a rubber /plastic sucker for hanging tea towles on in the past, usually find them in the Supermarket or Pound Shop.
