Been there done that. Or similar. Mine involved the alternator belt on my own Metrot, all 998cc of it. Engine should have stalled before it broke my finger, but there you go. I (literally) feel your pain. Had a nurse strap it up at the Royal Victoria in Folkestone, she insisted that it had to have a curve to it. Which explains why my middle finger now points the wrong way. Be careful about what any nurse tells you needs to be done.

Our. I’ve nearly had a finger caught in the v-belt. Top top: Don’t wipe down the engine whilst it’s running, cloth gets easily pulled in by belt and finder follow. Dodged that one though.

I’m hoping they finger ends up straight - it’s bloody annoying now, so limiting especially on my right hand. And sore.
Actually paid to have the car washed, haven’t done that in years but no way I can do it now!
