Know what you mean, followed that all the way :arghh: I can tell you that you need a minimum of 110 bar hydraulic pressure to raise the canopy of the tornado GR1 and the F16 has 6.7 US gallons of H70 Hydrazine on board. Horses for courses Andy. Well out of my depth in your field to the extent I put my arm bands on to keep afloat whilst reading it. Oh, Guiness is good ;)
H70 Hydrazine wasn't that thought to be responsible for the F16 crashes?

Andy starting too feel the kraken headache already

It powers the Emergency Power Unit to give vital services when it all goes belly up. Nasty stuff but not heard of it causing incidents as it's benign when not in use as it were. Maybe though.

I know what you mean Andy, but, most of us learn stuff from others. Hats off to windym for doing something completely new and undiscovered. New technology and understanding - fascinating.

When it goes belly up I though a rocket powered seat and parachute was your best friend.

There has been quite a lot of work on this subject as it would be key to a lot of criminal investigation. What I am trying to work out is use of specific wavelengths of light, this has had very limited (as far as I know) research done.

Worst case mate the black and yellow handle is well and truly pulled and a split second later you are free with a few facial burns from the linear cutting cord on the canopy (kite dependant) and 1/4 of an inch shorter. The H70 and or Ram Air Turbine (RAT) can be deployed to provide basic but essential operations and info to give the jockey a fighting chance of a. landing it it or b. banging out after he's guided it away from the obligatory school.

Is that your final destination with this info, criminal investigated or is it part of a wider subject?

At the moment I will see where this takes me, I have another avenue I also want to explore and that will hopefully lead on from this. The later has a health and safety component being about blood transfer spray patterns.

Hi, breaking it down to basics i am looking at various points in the visible and invisible light spectrum. To determine if it is possible to detect finger prints on skin. The basis is narrow band imaging where mucosal and sub-mucosal tissue are viewed with part blue/green wavelengths.

The application is in forensic imaging looking at the oils rather than blood and seminal fluids, with the use of chemical compounds and controlled light sources, with the skins natural oils.

Andy
We use narrow band imaging in endo surgery, makes blood vessels stand out which otherwise you can't see using normal imagining.

Narrow Band Imaging was first used by NASA for deep space exploration, the space craft DAWN was equipped with a framing camera at 20mm aperture F/7.5 with a focal length of 150mm. A CCD with an 8 position rotating filter with 7 NB filters was used to capture images from Ceres and Vesta.

These two protoplanets were chosen as one is dry and the other icy. They were to provide an understanding of the formation of rocky planets and the conditions needed to hold water. It never ceases to amaze me how much of our tech comes from space exploration.

I was blown away when I saw NB endoscopy, I know Olympus had developed an Endo-Capsul looking forward to seeing that with NB filtering.

Yep it is Olympus kit we use. I confess to not knowing too much about the science around it just fix it when it goes wrong. ;)

You can write as many dissertations as you like, on as many scientific subjects as you like, you might even end up being able to see bodily fluids on a spiders foot, but if you want to make your mark on this world, do us all a favour and identify once and for all the true identity of the chuffing sock monster that continues to blight world wide society by kidnapping socks somewhere between the wash basket and the tumble drier ...........

The truth is out there ......=))
