Latest detailing challenge on a Mini Cooper cabriolet. Needs some missing TLC otherwise a straight car but has the filthiest engine bay ever.
Long time since i needed to get the Gunk out. Wheels also a bit of a mess and really need a re furb but will have a go and tidying up.

That's only duster dirty. Wife's Mini engine bay is often worse than that. The BMW Mini design seems to encourage under bonnet dirt, but at least it doesn't drown out in the rain like the original did.

Might be dirty but it looks nice & dry, no signs of leaking or weeping. Is this a new addition to the fleet?

Engine done, Gung spray, rinsed then finished off with Aero 303 for the plastics and WD40 for the rest.
Now washed, paintwork like sandpaper so time to get the clay bar out. Think this one will need machine polishing.

Bet that’s the first clean of its life Paul. Huge improvement mate:thumbsup:

Tony.

Paintwork in need of more attention and wheels will need a re furb, other than that its come out quite well for a 15 years old.
The one major benefit for its lack of cleaning during its life is no swirl marks just contaminates to sought. Had a chance to make a start with the paint correction on the bonnet. Great little car with lots of extras (Cooper with Chilli pack) these cars are at a bargain price at the moment yet still look like a current model. Very impressed with this junior BMW.

We have always been very tempted by a Mini. Trouble is the Hondas to good to get rid of & we haven't got space for any more.
