Hi,

The end of my dispstick broke into the tube while pulling it out. The piece fell in probably in the oil pan I guess. Will it go through the oil pump and cause issues or am I ok for now? How do I remove the piece and how hard is it? Anyone had this happen before?

Thanks

You'll be fine the oil pickup has a gauze plus it's too big to stick to it.

On the next service empty the sump and fish it out if you can, dipstick hole or sump as its side on.

Screen around the oil pick up pipe should prevent the lost bit getting out of the sump, probably it will flush out at the next oil change.

Thanks everyone! It's good that I have time until my next service. I will try then to get it out with the oil or worst case scenario I remove the oil pan do a good clean and maybe replace seals while it's off and maybe remove and clean the dip stick tube too.

Don’t.
You can’t just drop the sump, the crossmember gets in the way. Can’t remember all I had to unbolt to do one, but it’s not a quick job.
It’ll be fine, someone has obviously dropped the dipstick at some point. There’s no way it’s getting though the strainer, or blocking it, fairly decent surface area, about the size of a tea strainer.
