De-icing cars

The zed stays under the carport so no frost there. Jue uses de-icer and I do on old knackers but anything decent I just let it thaw with the heater blowing until clear. It's a pig at 3.30 in the morning but that's life. May not be necessary much longer but that's another story to follow shortly.....

I use warm water and a dry cloth. Have done for years

My dear departed Grandad recounted a time when he did the same on his windscreen, good job Granny was very short sighted.;)

Oh yeah, and don't get to close to the car, you all know the story's of people getting their tongues stuck to lamp posts......

My Z will never see such awful stuff, perish the thought, its out and out cruelty to such a beautiful car. :D

My baby doesn't do frost, ice, snow can manage a bit of rain in emergencies (like getting home)

Question: at what age is not OK anymore to store your convertible outside?
In my case I just scolded my garage (they've been having it in repair since last October) because they left it outside for more than a month without working on it...I am ok with that as long as I know it's covered and not in the middle of the road under the pouring rain and the freezing cold while there's an empty heated parking space I am paying for.
Now they brought it inside and it's not coming out anytime soon I'm afraid (I made the mistake to let them know I won't be driving it anymore this year)

Unfortunately mine will be braving everything a Scottish winter can throw at it for this year at least .

My Z is 20 now and stays outside in the road and used at least twice a week for work.
And occasionally a journey out.
Roof doesn't leak paints got protection on it and roofs proofed.
Tracy.
