to remove or not to remove, that is the question..

Bin em. Breaks the lines up on the bootlid. Dental floss is the easiest thing to use, then polish up afterwards. Worst case you can stick them back on again.

Anyone who matters knows it's a Z3 Simon so get shut if that's what you want to do.

Tony.

My feeling is that if you debadge it you are trying to hide what it really is, I see it all the time on boy racer cars as they try and portray their car as something that it not really is, if you had a Z3M would you debadge that, as it is your car is already debagded as someone has hidden the engine size, I was in a fuel station a while ago and when I went inside I watched a guy looking at my Z, it was quite obvious that he didn't know what it was and went to the rear to see, I'm proud to display what I have ;)

Here Here there's one proud owner of a Z3.

I'm not sure that early Zeds always had an engine size badge. Mines a 97 and doesn't have one and I've seen plenty without too

The originals never had engine size badges, they added it to facelift but was probably an option or had option to delete as not all facelifts have them.
I like the clean look and easily reversed, might have a go over Christmas.

I didn't remove mine to hide what it is, because I know what it is. The badges were randomly placed on the production line. Sure there is a BMW document which specifies where they go, but the staff didn't seem to take much notice of it. It annoys me more seeing a Z3 with the badges in the wrong place.

There was an option to not have them from the factory, so that likely explains why there are so many that don't have them.

I'd keep the badge :p
As I like them ;)
Do what you feel like doing if you take it off you can always put it back if you want too :)

My 2 cents:
it's only a matter of few years before the Z3 will be historical, and at that point OEM conditions will matter.

so my suggestion is: if it doesn't bother you too much, keep it.;)

Moreover, the Z3 badge is not just a few letters indicating the model, it's a proper trademark, with an exquisit 90's styling that makes it unique.

That's the beauty of Z3 ownership,I hardly ever see two exactly the same! Wandering round at Shepshed in the summer I don't remember seeing two identical Z3s. By the way with badges (or no badges) that car of yours 'Sean D' would look great.

if you had a Z3M would you debadge that

Definitely, do you not know the value you can sell them badges for to non ///M owners?! There is certainly huge demand as loads of people stick them on their cars, they must be worth an absolute fortune :D
