Thankfully, my soft top is in quite good condition, but I did find this company on ebay who claim to make high quality replacements in many colours, including the red (it features in their ad). Here's the link if you are interested. I saved it in the event of mine meeting with damage in the future. Best of luck.

Thanks for all of the kind comments. Last thing left on the shopping list is a pair of heated sports seats in beige. Any suggestions for a good pair?

The discussion over the boot rack fitting direction always causes a laugh on here as it gets debated every time someone posts a picture with one fitted wrongly. They are not laughing at your post ;)
 
I've seen loads of debate on here about which way round the luggage rack should be fitted & from what I've read, I don't think there's a definitive answer. Even BMW released pictres show it omnidirectional! I'm enclosing two from the original 1996 brochure. I bought it like this & rarely use it so can't comment on the practicality really, except the one time I had a blow out when it became a lifesaver as we were away for the weekend with an otherwise full car. Suffice to say, I like it the way it is, I'm certainly not offended & I've no plans to turn it round!
