Hi ken my 5 series is black and I know what you mean you could do a panel at a time to make it a bit easier cheers Tony

You should mate or at least an old office chair!!!! I've had my Z creeper just over a year now and it has transformed my machining because it has 3 different positions, allowing me to take more time because i am comfortable no matter what i'm doing, and the sills are more important than people think, only wish i had found it a few years ago.

Less that £20 an hour and not taking into account materials / rent etc

not that great at the end unless you are doing super high end stuff
I when you break it down like that......but when someone quotes £1500 for a top job it sounds a lot of money.

Indeed, back breaking work and also the kind of thing that when money gets tight people stop wanting to pay for.

anyway offtopic! lol

great work OP

Yep it sure is. I was crippled up for a week after I did mine. I'm wanting to do it to more detail after christmas while it's off the road for the winter so looks like more back ache :arghh:

As valeting & detailing is my professional job people think it's easy work cleaning up cars that have been neglected iam sure @Russell O will agree with me it's bloody hard work after a days valeting every muscle aches.Might be an age thing =)) not sure.
Remember a good wash method and save busting out the machine or regular hand polishing to remove imperfections.
Cheers Cliff.

Morning Cliff.

It is an age thing mate, especially our age.....=)).
But totally agree. It's back breaking work. Right tools for the job helps a lot but it is a young mans game. But then a young man has little experience and I could not let an apprentice loose on any car I'm afraid. Mayb'e it's just me but I started in a body shop 35 years ago and learn't my trade from their. Plenty of mistakes on the way here but never mistakes twice.

I employed a young lad once and he didn't last a week. I had him standing watching and some classroom stuff but the lad could not keep his eyes on the job and phone was always in his hand. Not the thing you want to see when you have a Black Rolls Royce in front of you.
His phone went out the door closely followed by the lad on the Friday. Been on my own ever since.
My missus helps out on interiors as she is brilliant at them and she knows how to treat a vehicle. Jewellrey comes off, Belts come off, in fact anything abrasive comes off.

The amount of so called detailer's on other sites who post pics up of them polishing etc with rings and watches on... Unbelievable..
#So tip their..Take them off...
Lean over a bonnet with belt on and you will be phoning the customer trying to explain why their is a big buckle scratch on his wing.

Jeez, Going on now.=))

Have a good day Cliff.

Hi @Russell O you can do the roof on mine anytime if you want ☺☺.
Top job last time but as you say best to stick to soft ops.
