Cumbria County Council put out a competition to name their new gritters, the winners were;

Gritter Garbo, Gritty McVitie, Ready Spready Go, Gritty Gritty Bang Bang, Spready Mercury, True Grit, Nicole Saltslinger, David Ploughie, Usain Salt, Whinlatter Scatter, and Gritany Spears.

Brilliant =))

I was following the thread, some of the suggestions were ace, Gary Gritter less so :whistle:

I would imagine Adolf Gritler wouldn’t be too popular either..:whistle:

No Citroen Saxo :(

Imon the gritter :whistle:

Mc s*** Spreader... ohhh that's a Cllr.. can't be having that one..

Ever worried there was something you weren't being told when you see a gritter on the road in June?
Or an RNLI vehicle when you live as far from the sea as its possible to get in the UK?

@andyglym not sure about your area Andy but in Scotland you can live track All the trunk road gritters had a quick look there but all in depots as mild wet and windy tonight

That’s so they can track the staff nipping into the services for a break. :whistle:

How about.....stop wasting council time, public money and just clear the roads like we pay our taxes to do.

Might not fit on the front of a gritter but hey ho.

Oh yes and dear council stop pretending to be with it and trendy. Please.

We dont get often get snow here on the South Coast, but the Bognor Regis Gritter Dept is ready to spring into action.
