It's very interesting but it's like sci-fi at the moment.

What would happen if you were kept frozen for 200 years then brought back to life only to find you have no living relatives and no money, all incredibly depressing.

Apparently on that BBC article it costs £37k

What would you do, buy a Z3M or preserve yourself for 200 years?

There are other companies that charge a lot more than £37k for just the preservation of your brain, assuming that when you wake up in 200 years they have the technology to grow you your arms and legs back.

Thoughts? =))=))

I know that if it were cheaper, say £5-10k there would be a hell of a lot of people doing this.

What if there's a powercut and your freezer suddenly defrosts ? =))

That's your £37k up the Swanny =))

Each to their own, tough call. That said and within reason I'm in favour of respecting a dying wish. Would be tough to "come back" at any age in 200 years with the passage of time in terms of technology, education and the World in general. Would be difficult to comprehend for a 14 year old. Who will be her guardian and would she be able to cope with being in the gold fish bowl aka, freak show. As I say, tough one.

I'd take an Escort RS Cosworth and go out in a ball of flames at 101 years of age then get buried in my Zed.
:racecar:

Desperately sad for this 14yr girl who just wanted to live and who can blame her.

The judge made the right decision allowing the last weeks of this young girl life to be happier

My Missus told me I was going to end up in the freezer but I don't think she meant this =))

IT made this young girl's last days easier to face, but, as parents who lost a daughter we feel we wouldn't be able to grieve properly knowing that she was being "preserved" somewhere. It's a hard one for the parents.:(

Tony.

I would agree with you Tony I feel sorry for her and her parents her mother wanting to please her daughter and a father wanting to grieve

Guys, fusion, cryogenics, it's a very "back in the future" week end !
What about holidays are coming?

I wouldn't want to see the state that this planet will be in in 200 years.

Preserve the Z3M for 200 years - with me inside it - what a scary thought!=))

I wouldn't want to see the state that this planet will be in in 200 years.

It's the state of the people on the planet that I wouldn't want to experience - given how we behave towards one and other in today's world - through what we experience in the media etc?

I don't think the people will change that much, however I think the people that run the planet will be very different from today, I wonder how many animals will have gone extinct by then and what the state of the rain forests will be.

An horrific and unimaginable situation for such a young person to be in. Not surprising that she wanted to grasp at the opportunity of life in the future. Who could blame her.

The reality is that it looks like some company has conned her into spending money to provide only hope and robbed the family and friends of the opportunity to grieve.

Even if life can be bought back (it has been on a small scale) it's almost certain that any memory would be gone and that everything from talking, walking and everything else would need to be relearned. Don't think I would want that.

I'm sure they are biding their time mate

The Russian agenda is that they want control over the middle east and north Africa, oil & gas.
I have worked down there, at the time, not a Russian in sight.
Worked for a German company who legged it when the sh*** kicked off but I was already out of Libya but I think @t-tony's son in law got evacuated buy plain from our airstrip.

Lets all all hope @Lee's little kettle fires up before the Russians start holding us to ransom.
By the way @Lee, I will lend you a bog roll......;)

Haha true that. but realistically not in my life time or yours :P

I don't think I'd want to be brought back in 200 years :p
Unless I could have all my family with me ;)
I don't really like change any way so it would be no good for me ;)
