Midday today I headed over to @Russell O on route the heavens opened but I refused to pull over to put the roof up. well it's the weekend and that's top down motoring.
As I parked up @Brian4 was there and after a good chin wag Brian made his way home and I set about fitting cruise control to Russell's Z3 which went well afterwards we had my drivers seat out to fix a small problem were the back wouldn't hold its position. while the seat was out Russell worked on cleaning my seat bring back the colour half was cleaned to show a clear difference then Russell set about cleaning the seat belt as I guess like most of the Z3's doesn't recoil well. it sure does now.
Thanks for your help today mate I really enjoyed chatting and please thank Deb;s your commander in Chief for the egg custards.

@Davyhoogy all I've ever needed to do is clean the webbing with toilet soap and a small nail brush, rinse and dry thoroughly. Then a liberal spray of Silicon Spray and work it in and out a couple of times.

Tony.

ps. Some of the worst things that make seat belts stick is ladies hairspray and makeup.

Russell used a general purpose household spray without bleach a nail brush followed by steam jet on both sides. wiped clean and dry off.
Silicon spray applied to the seat belt both sides and into the seat belt housing
Russell has a professional steam cleaner but you could use something like this

Steam is a very versatile cleaning agent. We have one at home.

It sure is mate. The Auto Glym Leather Balm did the trick bring out the colour and I could tell the difference as the seat belt held me tighter in my seat

What was the fix for the seat back not holding position- mine keeps returning to fully upright, getting annoying now!

We had a similar afternoon here over at Torksey Russ. Great way to pass an afternoon.;)

There were three of us, the same a few weeks ago when me, Grumpy and Brian4 converged to get Reggie fit fir the Euro cruise. You going to East Kirkby tomorrow mate?

Same problem Steve had with his.

Underneath is a bracket that had moved, We put this back to where it should be and all ok. Don't know how long it will last but ok for now.

The lever that allows the seat to be adjusted, if you follow the cables from that it will take you to the bracket in question...

That was my intention but have bust a pipe off my Radiator and can't get one until Monday morning so can't get their now mate.
Brian4 turned up at mine today too. Then their was 3 of us chatting S*** lol...=))=))

I'm not sure if it's a lasting fix but lets see but with the seat out on it's side looking at the bottom of the seat as you operate the lever you will see a small chrome clip to the right of this photo near the lower part of the alloy dog bone attached to the wire cord from the lever using a pair of pliers squeeze this closure to the closest black seat base and that seams to have fixed it for now. so much better now
