Not knocking you retirees Dave,you've given your pound of flesh and it's good to see you getting out there and enjoying life :).....I'm only jealous ;).

At work they expect me to be able, and want to, do the same as 1 lad who is 1/3 my age and 3 who are 1/2 to 2/3 my age. I've done my share of the heavy jobs over the last 44 years, so something has to give soon.

Buddy there's no easy answer I know I've given my body a bit of stick when it was younger,it's just luck we made the right choices at the right time that I don't have to work so much now,probably still do 40 hours but I don't have to travel very far to work in fact if I look out the widow it's looking back at me ;).its diferent when your working for yourself and you like it.

40 years, Christ, I'm 4 years overdue !!:arghh::arghh:
Tony.
I was only ever going to do 40, as once you had done 40 your pension didn't increase anymore.

Very true Hugh, when I worked for myself there was a point to it, by which I mean I benefitted from my efforts but after we lost Carla it was hard to catch up with bills etc. so we sold the business to a young lad who worked for me. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind hard work it's just that there are some down right lazy, job dodging people I work with who will do as little as they can get away with and are very good at disguising it. Add that to the fact that my job these days bears very little resemblance to the job even only 10 years ago, I don't enjoy it any more and that's a bad sign.

Tony.

Not much incentive there then Dave.

Great pics, , especially the waterfall, glad you enjoyed the day, just wish we could have been there.
Although you would have had to give me a piggy back up to the top, or should that be a sheep back,
Thanks for sharing.

At work, there are some tables where the dealer sits down to deal. I am on these tables once in a rare while. There is no problem with me dealing these games as I am an expert on them and have dealt them for more that 20 years. It would be no problem to schedule me on them but they don't care or even think about it. The dealers that are sitting can deal the stand-up games as well. I've put my time in, years and years, standing up dealing, yet without a second thought they'll schedule a young dealer to sit down. I was dealing there 10 years before that dealer was even BORN. They don't care enough to give it any thought. I'm finally out of there now.................Frankie

Life is not fair, and that's all there is too it. You are lucky (Hugh) where you reap what you sow, rather than other people reaping our hard earned crop:mad:

I have been doing the same job for the last 20 years, and things get harder rather than easier. I have never looked forward to retiring but as the years go by I cant wait the sooner the better now.

I will hit 65 hours by the end of tomorrow and I'm down to do overtime Saturday so I'll finish up at 75 for the week. I'll not do these hours forever but I want my mortgage finished as soon as I can so we can start to live and slow down. As some of you know we have future plans and we would like to see them way before retirement age!
