Good weather was promised so a last minute arrangement was made with Hugh (@miller1098 ) to meet up for a cruise on his patch. We arranged to meet at the Little Chef at Oswestry @11:30, so an early start was required for The Mints at 10:00 (sorry @Grumpy, that's early for us). After a fill-up on pancakes and tea/coffee at our meet point we headed off to Pistyll Rhaeadr via a lovely country drive. Now,Pistyll Rhaeadr is a huge waterfall which was brilliant, especially as we climbed up to the top for a magnificent view. When we had enough of the cold, it was very windy at the top, we went to the tea room for a well deserved soup and cuppa. Then it was off to drive through some more fantastic scenery, I don't remember exactly where as I was following Hugh, before ending up a Aberdovey for a fish'n'chip supper.
We had a absolutely fantastic day and just want to thank Hugh & Sarah for being such great company. We had loads of laughs and great driving too. Just what the doctor ordered. The only (slight) downside was the 2 1/2 hour drive home in the dark and rain. But we were still in the Zed so not a huge problem, 275 miles on the trip in total. Brilliant.
