Cruise retro fit

Hi. I have a 2000 facelift 2.2. I've been offered a complete cruise setup from a 1.9, but seller seems to think i may not have the free wiring required. Does anyone know if thinsg changed over facelift, or will I have the wiring still in place?

As the 2.2 is fly by wire (I assume MY 2000 is too) the necessary modules might be specific to a particular model. I have no idea whether the 1.9 is FBW. Perhaps RealOEM can help?

Head a look, but nothing out there to say if pre and post facelift are comparable....

Do you know what year the 1.9 donor is? FBW cruise is the easier of the two to fit. I added it to my old 2001 2.2, I’ll try and do out the thread.

The 1.9 M44 was the first engine BMW released in the Z3 and was replace with the 2.0 for a while before coming back with the M44/M43 in the facelifts. So it covered both pre and post facelift.

A picture is worth a thousand word.

The first picture in link posted by GazHyde shows you a little black box of electrickery and a stalk. This is what you need for your 2.2L Z3.

If the kit you are looking at, looks like the below picture. Then it is for a pre-facelift 1.9L or 2.8L Z3 and is not what you want.
