Does anyone out there have a Z3 with factory fitted cruise control? And does it have a warning light in amongst the dash lamps. Fitted it on mine a while back, would like to get a light working, if it's just a matter of taking the cluster out and fitting a bulb in a pre-existing hole. And no fnaar fnaars, please.

Fitted by me but a BMW kit. No mention of warning light or fitting a bulb to get one.

There was no warning light for the cruise control on my Porsche and that was a factory system.

Hmmm. May have to take the instrument cluster out and shine a torch here and there, see if anything shows up. My e46 330 has a light on with cruise control, and so does the Shogun I use for work. Not an important thing, but now that I've had the idea it's going to be niggling at me unless I do something.

Can confirm @lightning's comments above that there isn't a cruise control activation light. I asked exactly the same when I retro fitted it on my 2001 2.2 and got the same answer. Only car I've ever had with CC that doesn't have a visual indicator that it's engaged.

I retro fitted CC on my Z4 and there isn't a light on it either, not sure if there should be or not TBH. I wonder which year lights were first fitted as standard.

Tony.

Ah well, saves me having to fiddle around to see what's in the cluster. Seems strange not to have a warning lamp, not had many cars with CC but they've all had one. Will put the time saved to better use:whistle:. Thanks for all the replies, much appreciated.
Remote boot opening still needs doing, and really must delve around in the front of the car and see just exactly where a cold-air intake thingy would go. Shame it's finally started raining here in sunny Wales.

Mine should be together soon, just a matter of a bit of spare time. Using one of these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ford-Ka-M...514-aa-/282613536613?epid=1809795097&hash=ite and one of these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Electric-...10263224165?ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid
The switch is going in the centre console, that's going to be a pita, and rather than put extra wiring into the loom of doom I'm hoping to use the existing central locking wiring but reconnected to the solenoid. And there's a plan for an emergency bit of wire threaded through to behind the seats just in case it all goes a bit pete tong.
