Too many years ago we had a Frog Eyed Sprite ( in fact OH passed her test in it) and it had a cover to go over ther car when hood was off and empty, or could just have the drivers side uncovered for driving , I understood it was a "tonneau cover "but that has a different meaning now.It was held with twist fasteners on doors ,dash and rear of car.
I really wish the Z3 had one ,did look at getting one made ,but the folded hood protruding up made it rather difficult

I just keep looking how to do it.

A full tonneau would be a good thing to have for the Z3. Never seen a Z3 one though; I have had those on a MGB and triumph herald convertible years ago.

You would be able to get one made for a Z4 as they fold flat
