So last week details dropped through the letter box from our local council of how much they'd like to releave us of.

Of course they have managed to go for very close to the maximum increase allowed, total increase is 5.02 % with all the add ons.

Just for the fun of it would anyone care to try and guess the amount of council tax due this year for this little hovel ?

No its not mine either, unfortunately.

In 2019 it sold for a cool £19m

Closest correct guess wins a big barrel of smugness

I'll just say at this moment someone is quite close with their guess - interesting to see the spread of figures though.

I hope not :wideyed: I pay more than that for the privilege of no road, no street lights, no fire hydrants and have to put my bin bags in the car to drive them to the collection point 😂
Basing my figures on this .

Was looking at this the other night just on the market a few miles from me
15 bedroom 11 bathroom over 100 acres
price 2.2 million
Council tax £2198.

Nice place there Stevo, but think 100 acres a little much to tend to  Council tax way too high also.

Going to disappoint Andy now, John is closest with his £1400 - actual cost this year is £1564.

That's a deal less than we pay for a four bedroom detached bungalow.

And a lot less we are paying on 3 bed in North Wales. Its getting stupid now ——. Councils seem to have idea of cost control. Recently our council let a contract , the estimate 12 month previous was £7.9m let at £13m and thats only phase 1 of 3

Well thank you for this prestigious award of a barrel of smugness, I would like to thank all my family and friends my manager and all those who made my guess possible. This must equal my previous best, when I won pinning the tail on the Donkey some 67 years ago and won a ballpoint pen.:thankyou::thankyou:

:wideyed: ..... off to get my angry jumper :wideyed:

 I'm paying over £2,000 , and don't get me started on what we get for that amount apart from our bins emptied every 2 weeks. Plus this year we've had to pay £36 extra to have our garden bin emptied:mad::mad::mad:

We pay over £2k and what’s a garden bin? 🤬
