We have had this old girl in the shop for about 18 months now and shes finally beginning to shine, its a full body restoration, its a mk2 1600e with 48000 miles and only one owner on the log book, Finished in its original colour, Ermine white, it had been sat in a damp garage for 30 years before we got.

Omg! I'm in love, I love the old Ford stuff. Is it a keeper?

My late brother Martin had one of those, in black. Lovely car.

Tony.

1600E. A great car in its day. Looks good too.

Shame that. Be a great one to keep a few years. It'll keep creeping up in value. I suspect it's worth more than that now mate.

It was £25k when it came in the shop 18 months ago mate so probably nearer £30k now

Ford values are crazy. You can almost name your price for the right car. That is the right car.

Going to be great when finished, the 1600E was one of the few Fords which I liked.

My Dad had a MkII Cortina, this brings back many happy memories:thumbsup:

I used to own a lovely Ford MK IV Zodiac Exec 3.0 V6 Essex. Was a great car.. but about 12mpg killed me.. it had to go..

Looking great , is your paint shop going to re assemble or just the bodywork ?

Martin's did but it may have been an "option" , I don't know for sure Adrian.

Tony.

I had an Escort 1300E and that had a vinyl roof.

Anyone else miss them

Dave

I had a Mk.1 Granada (Consul) in a very bright green. I put a vinyl roof on that to loose some green. Easy Job, did the "B" pillars too. At that time there was a company in Gainsborough who advertised a "spray on" version.
Just underseal actually, a bloody mess and a rip off.

Tony.

The mk2 is my fave cortina. The zephyr is a mk 3. Escort mk1. Grannie mk1. Fiesta mk1.
Sierra who cares :)
Well unless its a Cosworth

In had an escort 1300E as well. It had the bubble arches and Weller 8 spokes. I loved that 6 pot dash!
