The trip so far.. Anguleme to Rôdez avoiding all motorways. Rodez to the Millau bridge, the road from Rodez
absolutely awsome, long sweeping bends for about 30k & no traffic. Motorway to Pont du Gare then back to catch the ferry from Marseille (what a dump, even the Ferry port doesn't have any signs)
Ferry arrives in Ajaccio, busy town. Costal road down to Propriano. Busy and fairly well built up.
Up in the mountains today, what can I say, some of the most awsome challenging roads in Europe.
Having done the Alps & Pyrénées, I would suggest Corsica is on par if not better... 25c, sun is out, a Z3(3.0i) to drive, what more does a man want...please don't answer that !!!

Sounds great. Pictures would be a treat.

Pictures of what more a man would want?

Suggestions ....and pictures please!..

Few years ago stayed at St Florent in the north of Corsica and drove all over the island in a hire car. Some of the roads are a bit challenging but the scenery is awesome. Driving back to our hotel one night along a switchback road in the pitch dark I came around a bend and the headlights picked out what at first appeared to be a solid black wall. I was confused for a moment before realising a black cow was standing in the middle of the road! I managed to swerve around it but I don't know who was the most shocked, me or the cow! We soon discovered that animals in the road at night is quite a common occurrence - we later saw a number of wild boars running across roads. Still, could have been worse - a work colleague took his family to Corsica and a rock fell from a mountainside and smashed the windscreen of his hire car. He'd only left the airport a short while before! - stay safe while on the island ;)

Hi, we also came across a cow today!
Hopefully below are pictures of the car/ ferry and the view from our accommodation.

Looks lovely :p
Enjoy ;)

Hi, just come back from a day driving round North Corsica, St Florent to Bastia and then north and back to
St Florent, 23c + sun out and top down..awesome. Definitely amazing roads only ruined by the mindless
French (Corsican) drivers who overtake on blind bends etc, iv never ever seen such dangerous reckless driving and I should be used to it living in France.
Maybe if I didn't have the calming influence of my wife next to me things would of been different.

The roads around that peninsular are heaven for a top down sports car but agree you have to resist the challenge to enter into a driving contest with the locals! Meeting trucks and coaches coming towards you on the really narrow bits can also be a bit hairy :nailbiting:

Did you take a look around Saint Florent? We thought it a very pretty port. The beaches just north of the town are good, especially at Farinole. Sounds like you're having a great holiday and decent weather too :)

We are stopping at St Florent and yes iv had to restrain myself with the mad locals.
Not used to being overtaken.... Z3 3.0 normally sorts things.
Brilliant island, last time I was here was on my motorbike.
