Off to Germany tomorrow morning at 06.30 hrs to pick up a van load of wine so will have a Mc D breakfast when we get there, oh, and fill up the tank.
Half the price over there compared to here, they were very good at keeping a sensible exchange rate from the D mark to the Euro where as over here it was 2.20371 Dutch Guilders (NLG) for 1 euro (EUR). Inverted, this gives EUR 0.453780 for NLG 1.
Put it this way, a (small) Dutch beer used to cost 2 Guilders, now we pay 2.20 Euro and no, peoples pay packets did not get the same exchange rate.

Think you could be right there, last time we were there, loading wine from van to van in a car park, bit like a drug deal, the German bloke said something about my cigar smoke getting in his van so I said, in Dutch, shut up, we won the war.
My buddy Rob went nuts and said the bloke could understand Dutch.........:D

I would hate to think. Look at what happened when you went on a road trip with one of the nicest people on here...

@Shelly Curry sounds good .. but you need to add some more spice... not the heat... Try a Persian or a Jalfrezi... . more spice and much nicer.. add in some Saag Aloo and Bombay Spud.. Some nice rice and away we go.. lol..

@hard top the problem is I'm not so fast on my feet as I used to be.Went on a pub trip to London and somehow got escorted from a club with my buddy ,got in a queue to get in another during this time my mate got hold of a policemans helmet, trouble was the bobby wanted it back and we had to run for it! As we're running one of our other friends is walking towards us turns around and follows us,we come to a road junction with a taxi stopped,so we jump in and straight out the other side.the problem was our mate jumped in and stayed there.thats when the policeman caught up.it was all ok though he got out the next day ,but he missed the bus we were on and had to catch a train.Oh how we laughed.Still got the helmet in the pub ;)
