All done! Once I start, I just can’t stop. Even took her out for a drive, weather was perfect today. What do you think of the new look?Well don’t rush it Chris there’s plenty of time mate !

Thought I’d make a start on the engine bay, tackling the worst bit first - the front panel.
Removed the front fan cover, snapping every fixing and bolt
. Removed the rust, primed and painted in satin black. Replaced Xenon light labels, plastic fan cover including all the fittings.

I did some of that last week while I had mine in bits Chris, looks so much nicer minus the rust don't they?

You don’t realise how bad they were until you do a job like this. As you say Tony they look a lot nicer and makes the engine bay look a lot tidier.
Ha,ha. I just looked on my phone for my pictures mate and I must've deleted them. Mind you the top of my engine was so dusty I took the hoover and brush to it.

Hi Chris, firstly I cleaned with this.
Which came home from Florida but you can get similar stuff here.
Secondly I use this to treat the plastic.
I got this tip from Bill @billz and shamefully stole his idea for the BMW badge on the rad cover but i used a black/silver carbon one instead of blue and white.

You mentioned CIF Shower Foam to me and it works a treat.

Is anyone else going stir crazy not being able to take there Z out for good drive this weekend? Weather was so good today, such a shame. If I clean it any more the paint will start coming off

I like those Chris, did you paint the originals or buy new mirrors? It goes well with the rear side window surround!
