Completely off topic - David Bowie

Back in the day, I used to drive my parents absolutely nuts playing the Aladdin Sane album full blast on their Steromaster stereogram record player ....

I remember getting the 7" single ~ I'll still have it, but it's up in the attic 🎵🎵

Did you watch the film JoJo Rabbit the other night? ~the final song was Heroes, but sung in German
 
In the 70s I had the misfortune to share a college room with a couple of other guys, one of which was Bowie and Stevie Wonder fan. Jeeze what a mixture. I was into Dark Side of the Moon.

Eh, I grew up listening to Beatles, Creadence Clearwater Revival, Pink Floyd, Craftwerk, Deep Purple, etc. So, not too far away form what we are talking about. Having said that, I was also into The Smiths, Prince, U2, Public Enemy and so on. Shall I say my musical taste was a bit eclectic? ;)

I’ve got lots of memorabilia off them including over 120 pin badges , books , earrings, fan club magazines , you name it I think I might have , it also including all their records and Lps , I’ve got 4 scrap books full off different items all in my loft 🙂

Bowie spoke perfect German, and recorded multiple tracks in that language. He actually lived in Berlin for many years.

Just watched some of Grayson Perry's Full English, and the bit about Northern Soul resonated with me, a lot.

One of my best friends is a Northern Soul nut, so I respect that too… More of a rock'n'roller myself though.

Still have my original Aladdin Sane album with the iconic artwork on the front and inner cover, still has the price sticker on the front cover….:..£2.38!
