The new Mazda candy red is far deepoer then Soul red and a lot sharper, cant remeber what its called but I have just done a Harley D tank in it, The problem is if you damage it, if you where to scratch one panel on the side you would have to paint the whole siude as its virtually impossible to match due to the applicatioin process, firstly it has a black base coat, then you have to add the base colour to 90% density, and the top coat, there is also another different process which is not much better for colour matching, you apply a base coat that looks like a wishy washy bronze colour and then a tinted top coat that does the magic, the more top coat the deeper the colour, then you have to put on a clear top coat, I am itching to do one for myself

Pretty good now we are heading out of all this crap mate, I lost total interest in the Z3 and its been sat in the garage for months, hows you and shirl

How crazy just missed you .ive watched so many YouTube videos about soul red crystal it looks like a skilful job to get it right and I’m probably not the right person to look after a car painted that way (not joking) but it’s a unicorn of mine .what other colour would possibly be similar but may be easier? And do you want a job ?

We're good too thanks mate. Both had our 1st vaccine now. A few changes at the shed too. Light at the end of the tunnel now mate, and it's not just some bugger with a torch bringing more work:thumbsup:Take care Pal.

Take a look at the renault candy red, cant remeber the name but its even better then Mazda, still a tricky colour but I have had success blowing in one panel

Yes I had originally thought of that as Renault have upped their colour game over the last few years .its a tough choice as I’m only planning on doing it once ;)

The images on line dont do it justice, It really lights up in the sun, I think its called fire red
