Thank mate. I really need to figure out why is this DSC light onSorry I can't help because I've not tried mine out yet! I'' m sure someone like @Redline that's used the C110 before will be back with some hints or anyone else?? There are several members using this reader so I''m sure someone will be able to help!! Good luck JIM
Sounds like you've done everything right. Could be a problem with the electronics themselves which is why you have the light on.Got the code reader and read the book...twice.
I keep getting the communication message.
Here is what i did. I made sure all plugs where correct and tight.
1. Made sure car is off
2. Pluged in C110 reader under bonnet
3. Turned car on, engine off
4. Went to diagnose
5. Selected Z then E36/also tried under 3 series e36
6. Went to Chasis, then ABS
7. Get error code
Note: I tried trouble shootig. Turned off for 10 secs, checked connectors...please help!

I am plugging the unitnto both the 16 pin and the 20. Under the bonnet and under the glove compartment.Where are you plugging the unit in to?
I tried it there but have had several members tell me they got the adapter and plug it into the rounds connector. No ideaDoesn't the C110 plug into the OBD port inside the car? You can certainly read some codes from the port with the C110 so it's worth trying that one.
Thank you!Sounds like you've done everything right. Could be a problem with the electronics themselves which is why you have the light on.
Not familiar with the system without doing some research. I'll see if I can find anything for you but am absolutely snowed under with work. Might be a few days. Anyone out there familiar with the Z3 systems?
Nigel thanks for the offer. I also sent a msg to the ebay seller with no response. Might have to change it out. Just want to make sure I am not doing something wrong before I blame the equipment.I have the dsc with the rectangular connect for the later z3s and the adaptor for the earlier model, it has worked fine on mine. If you can get your car to Cumbria or east Lancashire you can use it.

To read the module you are looking for you definitely need to be in the 20 pin connector under the bonnet all modules are connected to this socket, the OBDII port in the cabin was only really for reading emissions in the US market.I tried it there but have had several members tell me they got the adapter and plug it into the rounds connector. No idea
I have he adapter for under the bonnet. No luck there as well. I contacted the aeller for a new device. It should not be this difficult especially after watching so many videos. To read the module you are looking for you definitely need to be in the 20 pin connector under the bonnet all modules are connected to this socket, the OBDII port in the cabin was only really for reading emissions in the US market.
Same here. I have tried every possible way and no go. Let see and wait for another bloody week or soI agree that the unit may be defective and hope the replacement works and you can solve the problem @Xcution!! JIM
