Hi all
My Clutch is not responding again. I did drain and replace the fluid, the reservoir is full and I can't see any liquid on the floor. Drove into work fine 30 mins. Then came back and zero response.
The pedal just moved freely with no push back.
After letting the car warm up and pumping the pedal for 30 mins it came back to normal and I was able to drive home.
I'm thinking I will need to replace the slave cylinder, what do you think? ( Sorry posted this in a thread earlier as well)
 
If you can get under the car see if you can lift the slave cylinder dust rubber to check if it's full of fluid. if it is then yes the cylinder seal is failing.
Have you changed the clutch master cylinder?

If it was as easy as it sounds, then yes.

Must be either the Slave or the Master cylinders at fault here, if no leaks at the slave its probably going to be the master with failed internal seals allowing the fluid to get past them, hence no pedal. Do the checks @t-tony suggests to pinpoint which it is.

When you changed the fluid, was the old fluid black. That would indicate the seals were wearing.

Find out what the problem is before throwing money away. If you can pull back the boots on the two cylinders and there's no fluid behind them then there's no leak either. Sounds more like a bleeding-related thing, it can be tricky getting fluid to flow down-hill. In the past I've taken slave cylinders off the bellhousing and lifted them as far as possible to get the air to travel uphill, if you see what I mean. If you do wind up taking it off, push the piston in as far as it'll go and then carefully wedge something in there to stop it flying back out. And I did say carefully.
