As title,

I have had the engine replaced after my fellow owner (and just about still friend) blew the clutch/engine my changing from 5th to 1st whilst on a track day.

Replacement engine sourced from Tim Finch, fitted and running well.

Next track day gearbox (again a replacement from 172 cup) blew.

Time to cut my losses.

On eBay 99p genuinely no reserve.

Cash on Collection only from Woking, Surrey.

Lots on nice extras
MOTed for a month
Engine recently replaced from reliable source
Sits on Eibach Federn XQ springs
Braided brake hoses fitted
ToyoSports stainless steel back box (cat fitted)
Ferodo DS2500 brakes fitted
Sony Xplod stereo
Air Con deleted
Nearly half a tank of BP Ultimate super unleaded!
Rear (internal strut brace)
Open mushroom/cone air filter
Red Sparco Racing Bucket Seats fitted (not in date)
Red Spacro 2 point harnesses fitted
Interior removed - weight saving has taken place

Negatives
Gearbox is knackered
Clutch is probably knackered too
Plenty of cosmetic scratches - boot keyed, both doors have marks (minor no major dents, drivers rear light cluster area scratched etc etc.)
Air bag light on (bucket seats fitted!)
Service light on (can be extinguished if you are bothered)
Seats welded to floor
Central locking not working (doors kept locking themselves so fuse removed)
Could do with a good clean!

Engine going in 2 weeks ago!

Sad to hear that mate, thought you were having fun with this project?

I was mate, to be honest my mate blew it up, we went halves on the repair, then on my next track session the gearbox went.

He has lost interest, I have 3 kids and no money, time to break free.

VERY tempted by a 3.0 Z4 as another toy, but maybe going halves with my dad instead.

Like the sound of your dad mate, as for the other stuff, should have kept it in your trousers.....;)

I know, contraception is under-rated!

As for teh old man, he has just sent his MKII Escort's head away fr a 60BHP upgrade, but I hate driving it, I can't afford to crash it!

The 2.8 on my drive is a tempting track project, but crosses the breaking line!

I can understand why you are to scared to trash your old mans toy. If you still have your coupe Andy just enjoy that. You have wifey and kids seen the pics can't get better:thumbsup: but maybe just be gentle with your dads toy I'm sure with your breakers you can do something in the long term.

Sorry to hear the fun car is toast Andy, like dad's car, man what a wedding car, my brother had his Mk 2 Cortina 1600E, but maybe you can put these on the back burner for a few years. Yes, I know that sounds like a life time but it'll be here sooner than you think. Enjoy those babies mate, they're the future.:) Take care mate.

Tony.
